The emission behavior is the basis for the classification of a building product. In our testing laboratory, we test building products according to the current testing standards and award criteria of various certification standards.

For example, proof of suitability for emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) must be provided for the health assessment and use of certain indoor building products. For this purpose, a method is used that is based on the use of a test chamber and the subsequent analysis of the VOC using a gas chromatograph (GC) with a mass spectrometer (MS) and a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC).

Tests for the following labels:

  • AgBB (Committee for Health-related Evaluation of Building Products)
  • Appendix 8 of the model administrative regulations for technical building regulations (MVV TB)
  • TÜV PROFiCERT-product Interior
  • Emission class A+ according tot he french VOC regulation „Décret n° 2011-321 du 23 mars 2011“
  • Belgian VOC regulation on emissions from building products „8 MEI 2014: „Koninklijk besluit tot vaststelling van de drempelniveaus voor de emissies naar het binnenmilieu van bouwproducten voor bepaalde beoogde gebruiken”
  • LEED v4 (outside North America; LEED v4 for BUILDING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION)
  • BREEAM International New Construction
  • Finnish M1 classification for construction products
  • GUT/PRODIS (Gemeinschaft umweltfreundlicher Teppichboden e.V.)
  • DE-UZ 128 Low-emission textile floor coverings (Blue Angel)
  • EU Ecolabel for textile floor coverings
  • DE-UZ 120 Elastic floor coverings (Blue Angel)
  • DE-UZ 176 Low-emission floor coverings, panels and doors made of wood and wood-based materials for interiors (Blue Angel)
