Machine Technology

Digitalisation

The digitisation of raw materials, products and technologies in the entire value chain from the raw material via the finished product to the consumer is becoming more and more self-evident. To achieve this, existing analogue or measurable values and parameters must be converted and transferred into digital formats. Therefore, one of our tasks is to record and digitise all material and process variables. This is how we create the conditions for more productivity, sustainability and flexibility.

Simulation

Should the expensive effort for product development and parameterisation of machines be reduced? For this goal, we simulate materials, manufacturing processes and products. Materials and processes are precisely recorded in our measurement-technology testing facilities. Logical or empirical relationships and dependencies are determined and illustrated. The resulting virtual, data-supported image of materials and processes helps to significantly reduce adjustment and development efforts that were previously empirical or based on experience.

Measuring and Testing Technology

Reliable and reproducible data is required for the verification of modelled processes or for the evaluation of product properties. Based on a concrete requirement profile, we define the product properties or the measured variables that are to be recorded. We then determine or develop application-specific measurement and test procedures as well as sensors. This enables us to quantify the modelled processes or product properties and provide reliable data.

Building Physics

In the field of building physics, we address the topics of acoustics and heat, which are crucial for well-being in interior spaces. For research into acoustically and thermally effective system solutions, TFI provide extensive laboratory and pilot plant facilities as well as measurement and testing technology. This includes, for example, the building acoustics laboratory and an acoustic and an infrared camera for localising and visualising sound and heat sources. With our developments in building physics, we ensure comfort and well-being in interior space.

Application Technology

We transfer insights from science into practical applications safely and in line with requirements. Our engineers and technicians find the best conditions for this in our modern technical centre and our test laboratories. We intensively maintain our networks in research and industry. This enables us to offer competitive solutions and services that are highly valued in our sector.
