Innovative. Strong. Small and Medium-Sized Businesses. – We’re shaping the future at the 2026 SME Innovation Day

On June 11, 2026, small and medium-sized enterprises presented innovative projects, new technologies, and creative ideas at the SME Innovation Day hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) in Berlin. Around 300 exhibitors showcased groundbreaking developments that visitors could touch and experience firsthand at the open-air event. They demonstrated the innovative capacity of German SMEs and the central importance of small and medium-sized enterprises for the German economy: For it is with a wealth of ideas, a spirit of inquiry, and entrepreneurial courage that SMEs are meeting today’s challenges.

At the event, we presented the project “Binder Development – Development of novel binder systems with high binding capacity already in the raw material for the production of recyclable carpet flooring”!

In addition to a comprehensive range of information and consulting services aimed at promoting innovative ideas through the numerous initiatives and programs of the BMWE, Innovation Day also offered the opportunity to engage in conversation with representatives from business, research, and politics in a summery atmosphere.

Also on the event’s agenda: an International Area offering support for international collaborations, guided tours of the exhibition grounds, the ZIM Network Campus featuring innovations from ZIM networks, and a diverse stage program offering insights into innovation policy topics and brief presentations of selected projects.
