In the impedance tube test, the object is tested with regard to its sound absorption capacity. The sound absorption capacity describes the sound absorbing vs. reflecting properties of the test object. When testing in the impedance tube, only very small samples are needed, ideal for prototypes and for comparative investigations in product development.
