The goal of AsTeDiF is to develop an assistance system for operating textile machines in order to prevent errors and increase safety at the machines. This system is supplemented by a training and education environment that enables safe learning of machine operation.\r\n\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prevailing shortage of skilled workers, rising energy and raw material costs, and sometimes unreliable supply chains are some of the current challenges facing the industry. In contrast to developments in energy\/raw material costs\r\nand supply chains, which companies can only influence to a limited extent,\r\ncompanies can actively counteract the shortage of skilled workers. This is where AsTeDiF comes in, demonstrating the potential applications of digital technologies:\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An assistance system is being developed that includes sensor-based monitoring for the work area, which can detect forgotten tools and thus prevent the machine from starting or bring it to a standstill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, augmented reality and simulation technology are used to create a virtual working environment that realistically depicts machine behavior. The effects of the operator’s actions in AR can thus be simulated realistically. The simulation also offers the advantage that the user can \u201center the machine.\u201d This makes it possible to observe sub-processes in detail from perspectives that would be impossible in reality. In this environment, it is possible to learn how to operate the machine without any risk.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
